Former Politicker.com editorial cartoonist Rob Toronoe has picked up a gig with Editor and Publisher doing a weekly editorial cartoon on the media and journalism. Check out his work each Thursday over on E&P’s blog.

LA Observed is reporting that Patrick O’Connor has been laid off from the L.A. Daily News. Patrick was one of nine that were let go. I’ll update this post with more details as I get them.

Rob Tornoe, who was hired last April as a full time editorial cartoonist for the multi-state political site, was laid off this morning along with several other employees. Rob tells me that he has slowly been building up a client list and hopes to continue doing cartoons as a freelancer.
