Another round from the National Cartoonists Society’s Reuben Awards Banquet and Awards Evening.
Too late for yesterday’s roundup was Andrews McMeel’s celebration of Mark Tatulli winning The Reuben.
It’s a year of big milestones for Mark Tatulli, creator of “Liō.” In May, we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the strip. His 40th wedding anniversary falls this October, with a trip to Italy already in the works to celebrate. His grandson will experience his first Halloween and Christmas.
And this past weekend in Columbus, Ohio—after a dozen previous nominations—he was awarded the prestigious Reuben Award for 2025 Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year. With this honor, he joins such comic legends as Walt Kelly, Charles Schulz, Hank Ketcham, Mort Walker, Lynn Johnston, Bill Watterson, Jim Davis, and Cathy Guisewite.
As Rachel DeSchepper for GoComics notes Mark Tatulli has been among The Reuben nominees for a straight dozen years ever since 2014. It was darn well about time!

That [Rube Goldberg] name carries through to the divisional honors, the Silver Reubens. Several GoComics creators took one home this year:

This morning the National Cartoonists Society also posted The NCS Digital Reuben Playbill
The Playbill describes the events scheduled for the weekend and includes mini-profiles of all the Silver Reuben nominees and full page profiles of the Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year nominees.
Also the ads, many with original art, from cartoonists and organizations.
Greg Evans‘ showing, seen above, with 14 comic and cartoon images making up a Rube Goldberg machine, was a standout. Zounds!
The Daily Cartoonist even made an appearance.
Bruce Guthrie was there for the weekend and has posted hundreds of photos all much larger than above.
