Comic Barcelona Winners Announced

Today kicks off the three-day Comic Barcelona in Spain. Unlike other gatherings, they are not waiting to the end of the event to announce winners of their annual prizes. Below is a list of their Grand Prize winner, along with their category winners and nominees.
Grand Prize
Esteban Maroto Torres was awarded the Grand Prize in recognition of his “exceptional career and his decisive contribution to the projection of Spanish comics.”
Premio Sophie Castille a la Mejor Traducción (Sophie Castille Award for Best Translation)
Winner: Montserrat Meneses Vilar for her translation of Joe Sacco’s Eternal Disturbance, work published by Reservoir Books.
Premio Votación Popular (Popular Vote Award)
Winner: Meigatas by Paula Cheshire, Fandogamia
Mejor obra de Autoría Española (Best Work by a Spanish Author)
Winner: Contrapaso: Mayores, con reparos by Teresa Valero, Norma Editorial
