Asher Perlman is Playboy Cartoonist in Residence

Playboy has announced that New Yorker cartoonist Asher Perlman will be their Cartoonist in Residence for their Spring 2026 issue. Playboy noted in their announcement that this is the first edition to only feature a single cartoonist. Asher says he will be providing 10 cartoons. When asked who approached who, Asher says that the magazine reached out to him. The issue hits stands/retail today.
Asher is a regular cartoon contributor to The New Yorker and is a writer for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He does stand-up in New York City as well as a performer with the Improvised Shakespeare Company.
