A Little Sunday Oop(s)

Early this morning we got this message while trying to find today’s Little Alley Oop page:

At the time of this writing the entire Alley Oop page at GoComics is unavailable, not just the Sunday strip:

I will assume it is down to fix the problem and today’s Little Oop will be up sooner or later. Until then:

Sunday Alley Oop (aka Little Oop) by Joey Alison Sayers and Jonathan Lemon for September 14, 2025

  1. Thanks! Looks like it’s all fixed now.

  2. I hoped the comic strip creative team was been fired, for a moment. Unfortunately, this is not happened. And from monday begin another week of a non -sense storyline.

    1. Have the Daily Alley Oop strips in recent years been all non-sense storylines? But why is that?

      1. The weekday _Alley Oop_ has been a series of stories under the Sayers/Lemon run, much as with the previous creative teams on the comic. Occasionally the Sunday _Little Oop_ has ventured into having a narrative as opposed to spot jokes around the theme of Little Alley Oop and his scientist pal from the 21st century messing around. If I may be immodest, https://nebushumor.wordpress.com/tag/alley-oop/ has my attempts at summarizing them.

One may not like the stories, or not like the tone taken, which is built around a snarky punch line every day. But (in my judgement) the stories have met the requirement of resolving in ways that follow from the premises and developments within them.

      2. This is a problem, and in my opinion a major flaw, with the current scriptwriter. She conceives all the stories as humorous, parodying science fiction. The time machine has been sidelined for absurd stories in other dimensions. Dr. Wonmug is now written as an idiot, not a brilliant scientist. The same goes for Oop.

Among other things, historical characters from the series have disappeared. Like Oscar Boom.

    2. Glad to hear you’re still reading the strip, Carlo! Thanks for being a loyal fan!
