UK Cartoon Exhibits Include Multiple Pub Shows and Museum Debut

Looking to get out of the studio this summer? Here are five UK cartoon exhibits to visit: Samuel Ojo’s show at The Cartoon Museum dives into his experience as a migrant artist. In Herne Bay, “Out of Line” takes aim at Michelangelo’s David. Paul Shadbolt’s work is on display at The Crown in Hastings, Pete Songi organized “Deserted Island” theme exhibit with nearly 100 gags from 66 cartoonists at the Duke of Greenwich pub, and the Cartoonists Club of Great Britain is at The Shaftesbury Fringe.

The Cartoon Museum Features Samuel Ojo

The Cartoon Museum will be featuring the art of Samuel Ojo on his experience as a migrant in the UK. The exhibit is called “Ìrìn Àjò” and runs from July 24 through November 29.

Samuel Ojo moved to the UK in 2022, leaving Nigeria for Birmingham. This exhibition reflects on his journey so far, as well as the contributions that immigrants make to the UK and the ways they are perceived by the people around them, the media, and the government.
