Still Catching Up – Comic Strip Edition

The CompleteAsterix: The Chief’s Fightby Fabcaro and Didier Conrad

On October 26, 2023, Papercutz will release the 40th volume of Asterix, titled Asterix and the White Iris, and today ICv2 has an exclusive first look at three comic strips that are being released as a companion to the graphic novel.  The first three strips in the sequence have been published elsewhere, but the second three are debuting here, and together the six strips form a standalone story, “The Chief’s Fight,” about the chief of Asterix’s tribe, Vitalstatistix, and his wife Impedimentia.

9-11

There were several comic strips honoring 9-11. Two stood out.

The stark black and white design of Liô must really draw eyes to it on the comics page. Also striking is the art and color of Wizard of Id. Even on a black and white comics page it would draw notice, then the Flight 93 sentiment.
