Apologies to Sean Cleary and everyone, life got in the way of The Daily Cartoonist today. So other than the already set in motion Hey Kids! Comics! post TDC was forced into the backseat.

Yes Sean there has been a number of comic characters guest starring in other comic strips this month.
And of course now Patrick McDonnell is doing his annual tribute to comic strip characters for The Reuben Awards festival in this week’s Mutts (as he does comic book superheroes during the week of the San Diego Comic Con).
Patrick McDonnell is one of so many cartoonists gathering in Kansas City right now and presenting or attending panels.
