CSotD: Prima donnas get some prime ribbing

Bizarro

Seems odd to have Dan Piraro do a cartoon in which a butcher is seen as the good guy, but here's a Bizarro for everyone who has watched the deleted scenes from a movie and said, "Thank god for editors!"

Come to think of it, it's odd to see any cartoon in which an editor is seen as the good guy. They're usually depicted as the uptight opponents of dropping F-bombs in family-friendly newspapers, or the idiots who let a "you're" slip past where a "your" should have been. (Never mind who made the error in the first place.)

In any case, given the things directors tend to feel should have stayed in the film, I'd say the fat and gristle metaphor was well-chosen.

  1. Though it is often true, it’s not always the case. Sometimes really great things are cut in order for the film to not be too long. Usually it’s the Director’s Cut of a movie that’s already horrible that is unneeded.

  2. I wouldn’t mind seeing the Director’s Cut of Fatal Attraction sometime, because the last 15 minutes of that movie, tacked on after negative audience response, provided the most ridiculous out-of-context, out-of-mood ending I’ve ever seen.
On the other hand, the deleted scenes of Pulp Fiction are a waste of celluloid that would have brought a brilliantly edited film to a grinding halt.
