Comic Strip of the Day

CSotD: So much to do, so little time in the budget

Retail

I have championed Norm Feuti's Retail as precisely the sort of strip papers should have if they want to serve younger readers, all of whom seem to have put in some time working at the mall. Today's is for those who ascended to management, which usually takes about three months.

It also gave me a flashback to my last editing job, where the publisher would come to the Wednesday staff meeting with a list of things he expected everyone to do — visit every town hall and school in their beat area, write a blog entry and submit 15 stories — and then would corner me afterward to tell me that I needed to keep the staff from going overtime.

(It's funnier when it's happening on the comics page.)
