Comic Strip of the Day

CSotD: Analysis of a mid-duck crisis

Sd100506

Seems to be web comic week or something. Sheldon is, as I have come to understand it, a story obstensibly about a young genius billionaire who lives with his grandfather and, early in the strip, accidentally uploaded a dictionary into a duck.

Dave Kellett has wisely backed away from the rich genius aspect of the strip and allowed it to mellow into a combination of social commentary and geek humor. He is not only an example of a web cartoonist who makes a good income from his cartoon, but he (in part) wrote the book on it.

I have to admit a particular affection for this episode because "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" is one of my favorite books, just as I have a particular affection for this episode because that "Moby Dick" is not one of my favorites and, in fact, I agree 100% with the analysis. The fact that Kellett and I are both graduates of the same fine institution of higher learning is, I'm sure, coincidental.
