Comic Strip of the Day

This was part of a series of Duke strips that I recognized all too well. I was, at the time, being "Dad" during the day and "the author" at night, and I set a clock for 12:30 AM in my office, knowing that anything I wrote after that would have to be re-written in the morning anyway.

I also had this cartoon on the wall next to my desk, because I wasn't, at 25, too far removed from having taken part in Duke's form of deadline enhancement. Trust me, it was not just futile but genuinely counterproductive.

Mike Peterson has posted his "Comic Strip of the Day" column every day since 2010. His opinions are his own, but we welcome comments either agreeing or in opposition.
