Rina Piccolo featured in ‘Inking Life: The Essential Cartoonist’ exhibit (UPDATE)

The work of Rina Piccolo creator of Tina’s Groove and one of the Six Chix will be on display in an exhibit called, “This Inking Life: The Essential Cartoonist.”  The exhibit opened Saturday the 12th of this month and runs through October 1. On September 13th Rina and other cartoonists will be on hand to talk about their art. This event is free to the public.

Darrin Bell pays tribute to the late Bob Thaves

Yesterday’s Candorville by Darrin Bell paid tribute to the late Bob Thaves who created Frank & Ernest.  The comic depicts Frank and Ernest as angels above two homeless people asking if they could share the alley because, “Ernie’s allergic to clouds.”According to E&P: “‘Frank & Ernest’ was one of the first strips I remember ever reading, and it was an inspiration to me,” Bell told E&P.

Jeff Stahler’s cartoons and mother’s water colors on exhibit

From the Great Lakes Chapter of the NCS comes news that Jeff Stahler (Moderately Confused and editorial cartoonist for The Columbus Dispatch) will be featured in an upcoming exhibit in West Virginia during the month of September. The exhibit also includes watercolor paintings by Jeff’s mother Wanda. The exhibit is called, “Moderately Confused with Mom.”
