Witty or Witless by Jon Brown, New Local Comic “Strip”

A few Cherry Road Media Texas weekly newspapers southwest of Fort Worth/Dallas have announced that they will be running a new comic “strip” by area cartoonist Jon Brown.

There’s a unique new comic strip coming to your local newspaper. Jon Brown, a retired 68-year-old educator will have his comic run each week in print and online.

Jon Brown has introduced a new comic for the newspaper, “Witty or Witless.” The unique idea is for the public to fill in the thought bubbles…”

The Witty or Witless panel seems to be in the caption-me category as readers are asked to fill in the word balloon and a color-me drawing with youngsters of all ages encouraged to take crayons and colored pencils to the art.

So far the Glen Rose Reporter, the Runnels County Register, and the Stephenville Empire-Tribune, all having Bill Hancock as Group Editor, have signed on to carry the feature.

I haven’t been able to bypass the papers’ paywall to find out more about “Witty or Witless.”

  1. Just an observation: the picture with the elephant and empty caption cloud says “Witty *and* Witless” vs. “Witty *or* Witless”???
