AAEC releases video of Ding Darling talking editorial cartoons

The Association of American Editorial Cartoonists has posted a new video with audio from two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Ding Darling talking about his approach to editorial cartooning. The video contains a collage of editorial cartoons from early US history to the present day.

The AAEC’s annual convention will be held in Washington DC this year (Sept 13-15) with a festival entitled “#!&% CARTOONS!!” held on the campus of George Washington University on the 14-15th. Along with the usual panels, the AAEC will present the 2012 Courage in Editorial Cartooning Award to Ali Ferzat of Syria and Aseem Trivedi of India.

  4. When my father was a young man, Ding Darling mentored him. Pleased to say I have one of Ding’s originals proudly displayed in my home.
