European Cartoon Award 2026 Longlist Released

The cartoonists who have been made it through the first round of winnowing for the European Cartoon Award for 2026 have been announced. Prior to declaring a winner at European Cartoon Day on Nov. 27, this list of 34 cartoonists will be narrowed to a shortlist of about 15 cartoonists. From there it is narrowed to the final three.

Statistically speaking, 40 cartoons were selected resulting in the 34 cartoonists above. Six cartoonists had more than one entry. Cartoonists from Spain and Netherlands dominate the list represent about 24% of the cartoonists. Cartoonists from western Europe represent about 60% of those on the list.
