English Version of ‘Dunce’ Launching Oct 5

Norwegian cartoonist, illustrator Jens K Styve has announced that his long-running comic Dunce will re-launch in English on Oct. 5. The feature will begin with his first strip and a new Dunce will be posted each day on his website.
“You could call it a 10th-anniversary project, revisiting Dunce from the very beginning. It’s striking how much the strip developed over those years, so going back to the first strips is both fun and a little scary.” Styve says. He adds that some of the strips were impossible to translate into English. For those he says he’ll skip those but may “write a blog post about those strips and explain why they don’t carry over.”
He tells TDC that his other motivation is to engage with his readers about the strip and discussing the craft of making comics. He says he’ll be frequently reading the comments, answering comments, and writing “occasional diary entries about what I was thinking and learning when I made the strips.”
