Is El-Sayed a Jihadist? A Commie? Right-Wing Cartoonists Can’t Decide
Skip to commentsFor right-wing cartoonists there are inevitable conclusions: If a politician is of the Muslim faith that person is a jihadist. If an officeholder or prospective legislator is a self-proclaimed socialist that equals being a Communist. Really scary for them is if that person was born in The United States and so could rise to the highest elective office in the country.
And so Dr. Abdul El-Sayed is a terror to them.
Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) looks at the hysteria being disseminated by conservative politicians and cartoonists: “Is He a Jihadist? A Commie? Cartoonists Can’t Decide How to Smear El-Sayed.”
These caricatures do not come out of nowhere, of course, but reflect the poisonous atmosphere of the campaign against El-Sayed—with slurs coming not only from fringe hate groups, but also from prominent Republican senators and even the White House.
“Even the White House” they say as if it surprises them that the current occupant would not cast aspersions.
FAIR’s small net mentions Henry Payne, Steve Kelley, A.F. Branco, Jon Russo, David Hitch, Margolis & Cox.
All show the political Islamo-Communists moving the U.S. to “a government equal parts Stalinist and shariah.”
