Stephan Pastis Drags Will Henry on a Book Tour

Stephan Pastis is an old veteran of books tours touting his Pearls Before Swine and Timmy Failure volumes. Now he has coerced Wallace the Brave cartoonist Will Henry to join him in a journey around the nation.

Stephan Pastis -Will Henry – He-Man September tour schedule

The occasion is the September 1, 2026 release of a book the cartoonists have co-created with Pastis writing and Henry drawing: The Adventures of He-Man (and Porter): Skeletor Ate My Homework.

Along with the tour are interviews by the authors.

From Amanda MacGregor at School Library Journal:

Who was your favorite character to write/draw or what was your favorite scene to write/draw and why?

SP: Oh, by far and away, Skeletor. He is so petty and thoroughly irredeemable, and he learns nothing. No moral arc at all. That was refreshing.

WH: It was He-Man and Porter for me. They have such a great visual contrast—a giant hero and a small child sharing the same space makes for some wonderfully charming scenes. And, of course, He-Man is a dynamic character, so most of the time he’s bounding, battling, or involved in some action

Sounds like Skeletor and Rat from Pearls Before Swine are like-minded, while He-Man and Wallace the Brave also have a lot in common.

Chad Burdettre at Comic Watch caught up with Pastis and Henry too and has a few short video interviews with the pair with one noting they have a 3 book deal with Mattel. Also noting a kind of time warp where Pastis is writing book 3, Henry is drawing book 2, and they are embarking on a tour to promote book 1.

The King’s English Bookshop stop is a ticketed event.

Your ticket includes admission for 1 adult and 1 child plus a signed copy of Skeletor Ate My Homework.
