2025 Reuben Award Nominees

The National Cartoonists Society (NCS) has named the nominees for the 2025 Cartoonist of the Year Award otherwise known as The Reuben Award. The nominees are:
DAVE BLAZEK Loose Parts
TAUHID BONDIA Crabgrass
WILL HENRY Wallace the Brave
DAV PILKEY Dog Man/Captain Underpants
DANA SIMPSON Phoebe and Her Unicorn
MARK TATULLI Liô
RAINA TELGEMEIER The Cartoonists Club/Smile/Sisters/Guts et al
Dav Pilkey and Raina Telgemeier are new to the list; Dave Blazek, Tauhid Bondia, Will Henry, Dana Simpson, and Mark Tatulli were Reuben Award nominees last year (Mark Parisi took that Goldberg statuette).
The NCS notes that “Due to a tie in votes, there are seven nominees for 2025.”
The NCS announcement includes brief biographies of the nominees.
The winner of the Reuben will be announced on August 7, 2026 at the Reuben Awards Banquet, part of the annual NCS Conference held this year in Columbus, August 6-8. Registration is open and we can’t wait to see you there!
Note: This is Mark Tatulli’s 13th Reuben Award nomination. A lucky 13?
