Comic Strip of the Day

CSotD: Cul de Sac Classic: Voices in the night

July 4th dubbing
I really do try not to go back to the same strips too often, and of all the same strips I try not to go back to too often, Cul de Sac is at the top of the list. However, if Richard Thompson is going to post classics like this on his blog, well, it's asking a bit much to expect me not to pass them along.

This is from July, 2006, back when Cul de Sac was a local cartoon in the Washington Post. The strip went into syndication in September, 2007. So this isn't a rerun unless you live in DC. Or read Richard's blog, in which case it's still only a rerun from last night.

I haven't watched the fireworks very often since the kids left home, but I can still identify with the father here. That's pretty much how I remember it.

  1. Classic, in more ways than one! Thanks for sharing again.

  2. “Snow comes UP, Charlie Brown! The snow comes up from the ground and the wind makes it LOOK like it’s falling!”

  3. I don’t know if it was the physics degrees or the threat of breaking out the overhead projector for a full lecture, but I never got this from our boys.
On the other hand they almost certainly muttered “paternal explanatory syndrome” when I wasn’t around:

  4. Wonderful link. I hope my boys don’t click on it.
