CSotD: Steeped in humor

As constant readers will have figured out by now, I go for comics with deep social significance and those with none at all. This would be one of the latter.
Last week, Rina Piccolo, no slouch herself, took over Rhymes With Orange for a vacationing Hilary Price, and observed on her blog, "The easy thing about doing Hilary’s RWO is that since it’s not a
character-based strip, there are no characters and story lines to
consider. The hard part was writing gags that would hold up to the RWO
standard. If you don’t already know, Hilary Price is one of the finest
gag cartoonists around. Evidence of this is the last 15 or so years of
continuously great material."
As in most artistic endeavors, the easy stuff is the hardest of all.
