CSotD: Profundity not required

The editorial pages are awash in cartoons featuring the Sphinx and the pyramids, and references to this or that great revolutionary moment, but this simple John Cole panel sums up the prolonged confrontation and the futility of Mubarak's resistence. Sometimes, there's no need to reach for the profound symbols, and often that reach exceeds the artist's grasp, with results that are more ludicrous than illuminating.
This is done simply, but not without skill: The outline on the wall is the touch that makes it work.
