This is the first episode in what will be a six-month long flashback at Pooch Cafe. Paul Gilligan has decided to break out of the current sequence to tell the story of Poncho's first year, with the Sunday strips remaining in the present day.

If you don't have this brilliant strip on your daily menu, this might be a good time to start.
