‘Garfield’ strip enrages University of Michigan fans

The ever grouchy cat, “Garfield” has enraged University of Michigan Fans with a reference that  Woverines were losers.

Last week, Jim Davis’ feature included dialog between Jon and Garfield in which Jon asks Garfield for a word that rhymes with ‘wolverine’ to which Garfield responded ‘loser.’

The Paws Inc. camp insists that the reference to loser was directed at the character ‘Jon’ and not the university.

  1. I believe you mean to say University of Michigan. Michigan State are the Spartans. M-U are the Wolverines.

  7. Ohio State and Michigan State fans/alumni are having a field day with the last panel. Jim Davis could put that last panel on a t-shirt and sell em during the Fall football games.
