Elon Musk Tweeted Cartoon Now For Sale as NFT

Colin Wright, evolutionary biologist, is the man who created
the now famous cartoon Elon Musk tweeted last week.

Colin has a piece on today’s Wall Street Journal opinion page.

I was out for a walk last Thursday when Elon Musk tweeted a political cartoon that I created in August 2021. It received hundreds of thousands of retweets and more than 1.5 million likes. The stick figure in the middle depicts me, a center-left liberal in 2008, and how the ground had shifted under my feet by 2012 and 2021.

The notoriety of the cartoon created by Musk’s tweet has led
Colin to offer the cartoon as an NFT to the highest bidder.

The New York Post carries the story:

The creator of the political cartoon Elon Musk used to illustrate his current political views is looking to cash in after his sketch sparked a viral social media debate.

Colin Wright, a contributing editor for the online culture commentary site Quillette, is selling the cartoon as an NFT and has opened bidding on the OpenSea digital marketplace.

The auction page for the drawing – dubbed “my political journal” – showed at least two active bids. The top bid for 1.25 ether – a prominent cryptocurrency token – is worth nearly $3,600.

Updating the NY Post item as of this writing:

You have until May 12 to tender your offer.
