Inktober Starts Today

Every October there is a celebration of ink drawing with the surprising codification of Inktober.

Many artists go freelance while others take up “prompt” challenges.

This year IDW through its Library of American Comics brand has the challenge I’m excited about.

We know many of you are artists, cartoonists and illustrators! Many of you have probably participated in the annual Inktober challenge that happens every October. We thought it might be fun to create a prompt list full of the various cartoon characters that are found in our books (with a few Euro characters thrown in for good measure)!
If you want to join us for the LOAC Inktober challenge, use this list as a prompt. Each day, create a drawing in your own style based on any of the characters in the comic strip of the day. Tag us in the post or use the hashtag #loacinktober and we will share your artwork! Let’s have some fun!
The suggestion for October 1st was Dick Tracy and the contributions rolled in.

Keep an eye on them, and maybe join in the fun.
