Syndicate Change: Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug

Dog Eat Doug by Brian Anderson has switched syndicates.

After fifteen years with Creators the comic strip is now being syndicated by Andrews McMeel.

Brian Anderson has told The Daily  Cartoonist:

I recently made the toughest decision of my career. Although fiercely thankful to those who first gave “Dog eat Doug” a chance, cartooning is a business and businesses change. Starting this month, Sophie and Doug will join the pantheon of beloved characters at Andrews McMeel Syndication.
I’m grateful that “Dog eat Doug” will get a second chance at the vision I had for the strip when I created it (technically Sophie gets that credit). I get the human zoomies over what the future holds. As always, thank you to my readers for adopting my inky creations all these years. Stay tuned!

The switch took place this past Monday with the above strip of July 13, 2020..

Our records show that Dog Eat Doug first appeared as a webcomic in 2004.
Newspaper syndication began on November 14, 2005:

I am a bit confused though (sorta like King Features’ Shoe being on the GoComics site)
as Creators continues to put Dog Eat Doug on their page with “© 2020 Creators” slug:

In other Brian Anderson news…

Brian has transformed his The Conjurers webcomic into a Random House book
that will be released later this month.

July is a big month for Brian.
