Editorial cartoonist Matt Bors has been heading up The Nib at Medium has announced that he’s walking away and taking The Nib with him.
Medium gave me a great opportunity to build something huge and a freedom to operate that you don?t see very often in online media, especially when it comes to comics. I think it?s safe to say no other company put that much money behind this type of work in the last two years. It was an incredible place to work, and I learned more than I ever thought I could about online publishing, but ultimately our ambitions diverged and I decided to move on.
The Nib comes with me. I?ve reassembled my editorial team and we?re currently running a Kickstarter, ?Eat More Comics: The Best of The Nib,? to print a 300-page hardcover to be released this September. There are plans to do more, both in print and online, in the near future.
