Festival of Cartooning Director Anne Morse Hambrock announced that the Kenosha Festival of Cartooning and the National Cartoonists Society Foundation raised $10,000 last year through the auction that Anne organized. The money is being split between two children’s charities in Kenosha.
We were honored to present a check for over $5,000 to the Open Wings School which serves children with autism and other learning challenges and also a check for over $5,000 to the Kenosha Clinic of the Children’s Hospitals of Wisconsin.
Congratulations to Anne, the NCSF and everyone who helped make it happen.

The real heroes are the members of the cartooning community who donated so many stellar items to the auction and the bidders who valued the art and ephemera. We were extremely blessed to have some truly exceptional items – having a signed print of the last Calvin and Hobbes at festival headquarters – even for just a week or two – was a personal thrill!

Thanks to NCSF President Steve McGarry and his fine board of directors, thank you to former NCSF president Rick Stromoski who first proposed the auction we did in 2012, and thanks to Phil Pyster who helps us get all the bids processed and the checks approved!
The school for children with autism and the childrens hospital clinic are doing valuable work and we are proud to be able to help them in their mission.
