Aussie cartoonist Chris Wilson breaks world record for marathon caricature drawing

I’m always a bit surprised at the various things that get logged as a Guinness World Record, but I like this one:

From The ABC:

Canberra cartoonist Chris Wilson has broken the world record for the longest caricature-drawing marathon, putting pen to paper in the foyer of the Canberra Hospital for more than two days straight.

The previous Guinness World Record was 48 hours, but Mr Wilson beat that by two hours by drawing for 50 hours.

Those getting their caricature were encouraged to make a donation to the Canberra Hospital Foundation.

Fifty hours is a long time for any type of activity. Well done, Chris.

  1. Sounds like a helluva loooong Bar Mitzvah. I wonder what the rules were ? bathroom breaks, sleep (if any), did they feed him (which of course is 50-50 even at normal gigs)? Massages for that locked up shoulder?

  2. That’s pretty amazing…the longest gig I’ve ever done was 7 hours, but that was with three 20 minute breaks. And it was exhausting, so drawing 50 hours? Brutal.
