Schulz, Herriman inducted into Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame

Among the 2013 inductees to the Society of Illustrators’ Hall of Fame are Peanuts creator Charles Schulz and Krazy Kat creator George Herriman. Members of the Hall of Fame are artists “recognized for their distinguished achievement in the art of illustration.”

Other artists inducted include: Ted CoConis, Sandy Kossin, Murray Tinkelman and Arthur Rackham

  1. Sanford Kossin was one of my illustrator heroes as a kid, as was Ted Kokonis. I’m glad that these fine illustrators are getting the recognition that they deserve.

  2. Even though cartooning is presented, correctly, as a very different skill set than general illustration, I’m pretty sure cartooning is categorized as a form of illustration… There are SO many subsets and so many markets…
