Schulz, Peanuts tribute by cartoonists

Monday, Charles Schulz would have turned 90 years old. Yahoo posted 10 Interesting Facts About the Peanuts Creator (but you probably did if you read the Schulz and Peanuts bio. But one of the tidbits they offered that you might not have seen are 42 tribute strips that ran back in 2000 on the day that the National Cartoonist Society posthumously honored Sparky with their Lifetime Achievement Award.

Here’s a few that I liked:

Garfield tribute to Peanuts
Shoe tribute to Peanuts
Wizard of Id tribute to Peanuts
Baby Blues tribute to Peanuts

Check out the rest.

  1. Of the many comics I read daily, two that still make me laugh the hardest, longest, and most often are Peanuts and Herman. Of those two, only Herman has me laughing even before I’ve read the punchline. I’ll be forever grateful to Schulz and Jim Unger.

  2. I am a fantastic drawer and i want to say that sparky has had the biggest influence on my artwork. I love reading the peanuts comics strips not to mention the charlie brown specials. he has really inspired me both as an artist and a human being. I love you sparky R.I.P.
