Scott Adams offends women with Male Rights post

Prompted by his blog readers, Dilbert creator Scott Adams wrote a post regarding Men?s Rights Activism. The post was take down, not before feminists made captured it.

Now I would like to speak directly to my male readers who feel unjustly treated by the widespread suppression of men’s rights:

Get over it, you bunch of pussies.

The reality is that women are treated differently by society for exactly the same reason that children and the mentally handicapped are treated differently. It’s just easier this way for everyone. You don’t argue with a four-year old about why he shouldn’t eat candy for dinner. You don’t punch a mentally handicapped guy even if he punches you first. And you don’t argue when a women tells you she’s only making 80 cents to your dollar. It’s the path of least resistance. You save your energy for more important battles.

After reading the full post, I can see why he opted to take it down.

  1. When women say they make 80 cents on the dollar compared to men, not only is not arguing with them the path of least resistance, it happens to also be the path of factual statistics.

Also, arguing with a four year-old about not eating candy for dinner is entirely reasonable and does not fit with what he was attempting to say.

    Those are my twenty cents.

  2. Anyone else find it funny this was written by a die in a medium that is going to it’s grave in a stranglehold being put on it by mostly old white guys?

    No?

Ok, how about that that was just written by a guy who at least partially drummed out of that group because his comic was considered a Dilbert rip-off?

    Still no?

    Well, enjoy more ‘My Cage’:

    😀 😀 😀

  3. I got a little bored reading the whole thing, so I only skimmed it. Was the basic point that Scott Adams hasn’t been laid in awhile?

He can take a joke as well as tell one, right?

  4. Scott Adams’s political views are pretty well-documented. I’m just surprised it took this long for these feminists to find something he says upsetting.

  5. > The post was take down, not before feminists made captured it.<

I think Alan might have been drunk when he wrote this. By the way, this is OLD news. I read about this somewhere else more than two or three weeks ago. Where are your tipsters?

  6. Ed, you misspelled “oops,” but what I really am writing about is, I don’t understand your comment “that was just written by a guy who at least partially drummed out of that group because his comic was considered a Dilbert rip-off.”

  7. I didn’t see anything OFFENSIVE in that statement. He could have given points and examples to his post, such as how Rhianna beat the crap out of Chris Brown for more than five minutes!!! WHILE HE WAS DRIVING!, yet the fact he hit her made news. Or women ALWAYS come out on top in child custody battles. A woman just has to ACCUSE a man of sexual harassment and the guy gets laid off, while the company “investigates”. Bars and restaurants constantly have women drink free nights. A women could have cleavage to the point her breasts may fall out, but yet the guy’s THE PERV for looking. Or the fact he can’t even make a post about male inequality without getting bashed…. I read the bottom line by the author of that blog… and just thought it was weak. I’m black and this whole situation reminds me of our situation – black people want to still complain about being held down, yet we have NEVER in the history of this country been on basically a level playing field with whites like we are now.

As a side note I’ve also compared women to mentally impaired people, you can’t explain to someone handicapped how it’s IMPOSSIBLE for Santa Clause to visit billions of homes Christmas Eve, and you can’t explain to women how it’s NOT some kind of romantic fate that she and her man ended up together out of those same billions of people, he lived next door!!! so you hooked up, it wasn’t fate, it was because you were to broke to go anywhere else in the world to look.

  8. I’ve always thought one of the greatest injustices of the world was that women get to drink for free on Tuesday nights at crappy bars for douchebags.

Jerome, you make an excellent case against explaining things to mentally impaired people.

  9. When it’s cold, snowing and you have to whizz outside, you as a man can stand up. A woman can’t.

No wonder feminists are always so angry.

  10. John,

Uh…I meants to write Opps instead of Oops. Opps is the new hip cool way of writing Oops. It’s like when people say par-TAY instead of party.

Either that or I don’t proofread my comments. Take your pick. 🙂

    As for:

“that was just written by a guy who at least partially drummed out of that group because his comic was considered a Dilbert rip-off.?

Well, I do think comics are bing held back as a medium because it’s mostly old white guys doing comics and most are there less because of the quality of their strips and more because of the habits of the modern newspaper reader…and man! Do I want in on that! 😀 😀 😀

Also, my comic strip ‘My Cage’ was written off by many people as ‘Dilbert with animals’.

So basically I was pointing out where I was being hypocrytical in advance.

It’s just easier than ending everything I write with: “Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes.” 🙂

  11. ” Most are there less because of the quality of their strips and more because of the habits of the modern newspaper reader?and man! Do I want in on that! 😀 😀 :D” …
I LOVED how you phrased that.
I also loved how Stephan Pastis phrased it on Tall Tale radio “If television were like the comics and left to reader polls, I love Lucy would still be on the air and they’d be on their 5th Lucy.”

  12. I finally found a copy of the original blog post that had been copied and posted elsewhere. If this was an accurate copy then honestly I think all that has been seen so far is a bunch of emotional over-reactions.

Before I found the entire blog post I saw numerous pages that criticized it and quoted portions out of context. The post was not comparing women to children and the mentally handicapped as has been tweeted and screamed across the internet.

The post, for anyone with a rational mind and average ability to comprehend what they read, wasn’t an attack on women or women’s rights. But since it’s easier to get upset and hyperemotional, and since doing so will supposedly get you attention on the internet, then that’s what will continue to happen.

  13. Have cartoonists ever made effective text-medium pundits, when talking about things not directly related to cartooning or the principal subject matter of their work? Has that ever happened? Ever? With anybody?

  14. The cartoonist knows a lot about cubicle life in broad strokes, but he hasn’t worked in a cube in a generation. More guys are slackers still living with the parents than women their age. And the women are out-earning the men because they are getting the degrees while the guys work on their video gaming.

Few women these days call themselves “feminists,” dudes — that sort of tells me what age bracket you’re in.

Women AND men got pissed off by what Adams wrote. Maybe he had an epiphany — that he was pissing off a significant portion of his PAYCHECK.
