» Frazz creator Jef Mallett has published a book on living “the triathlon lifestyle.” The book is entitled “Trizophrenia: Inside the Minds of a Triathlete.”

» Stephanie McMillan is running a contest within her comic Minimum Security asking readers to help create an acronym for the character’s “save the world resistance grouplet.” Entries are accepted through Nov. 8. Winner gets a Minimum Security Fun Pack.

» Jack Higgins, the editorial cartoonist for the Chicago Sun-Times, will be featured at the Irish American Heritage Center’s books, art and music celebration called iBAM! on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

» Kerry G. Johnson has illustrated a comic book with writer Rebecca Thompson-Flagg entitled “PhysicsQuest 2009: SPECTRA â?? The Original Laser Superhero.” The educational comic book teaches kids about “why lasers are one of the most important inventions of the 20th century.”
