Movie animation round-up

I read a couple of animation news blogs everyday and report what I believe would be of most interest to you all. If you’re highly interested in animation, I recommend you follow The Animation Blog, and Animated News.

Here’s a couple of stories I found interesting from the aforementioned sites:

» “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” to get 3D IMAX release

» Dr. Suess’ “The Lorax” is being made into a 3D feature.

» Looney Tunes: Spotlight Collection Vol 7 DVD in October

» How much money needs to be made to warrant a sequel? Despite $377 million worldwide ($198 million domestically), Dreamworks is wondering if it’s worth making a Monsters vs. Aliens sequel.

  1. I can’t wait to see Could / Meatballs!

    Monsters vs Aliens to me was a 3-star, probably really not worthy of a sequel. But that’s just me…

  2. Yeah, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs looks like a really fun movie, something that kids and adults would like. There really need to be more of those.

    And… another Dr. Seuss movie? It seems like they’re making more and more of those…

  3. Looney Tunes Spotlight DVD Volume 7 comes out soon? But when will Warner Bros. give a green light to:
    * A Blu-Ray disc set release of Looney Tunes cartoons?
    * A 4th. Animaniacs DVD set?
    * A 3rd. Tiny Toon Adventures DVD set?

  4. Hi Alan, this is Hector, the founder/editor of TheAnimationBlog.com — I just wanted to thank you for the king mention on your wonderful site. I too am a fan of your site.
