  1. Is it a Japanese animated film, or a Japanese-animated film? I see lots of Korean-animated films.

Just kidding–it sounds like it will be a hit with the kiddie set and will make a fine Happy Meal tie-in.

  2. Speaking of Studio Ghibli – oh wait they weren’t even mentioned – does anyone know if Tales From Earthsea has distribution rights for Canada yet? Space channel was blocking it’s release here for a while.

By the way, if you haven’t heard of Studio Ghibli and you’re involved in art/comics/cartoons as either a creator or an admirer, you are missing out. Read up on who they are here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studio_Ghibli and then check out their amazing library of films.

  3. Oh man, I can’t wait. Ben is right, if you are involved in anything art related, you must check out Studio Ghibli. Especially anything directed by Hayao Miyazaki. His movies are always incredible and inspirational.

  4. The thing about studio Ghibli and animation in Japan is that their work isn’t soft-handed away as some sort of child offering.

They make films, amazing stories and incredible characters, that happen to be done in the media of animation.

As such comments like this, “Just kiddingâ??it sounds like it will be a hit with the kiddie set and will make a fine Happy Meal tie-in.” simply exemplify the problem with NA’s handling of animation in general.
