Jeff Bacon, who has drawn the weekly single panel comic “Broadside” for the Navy since 1986 (and also draws “Greenside” – a sister comic for the Marine Corp Times), has been awarded the Surface Navy Association’s highest award for his devotion to the Navy. His cartoons were described as “edgy but not disrespectful, politically challenging but not preachy.”
