Lynn Johnston talks about FBOFW’s ending

The Grand Rapids Press interviewed Lynn Johnston about the impending end of For Better or For Worse next fall. Lynn tells us that the feature will end, but “will continue as a still-being discussed hybrid of some earlier, little seen work along with some new material.” I’m not sure what that means, but I suspect it might be reprinted starting at the beginning like Peanuts. There will also be more books published to carry on the story, but Lynn says that she won’t age the characters anymore.

  1. Sad to see “For Better or For Worse” to go after so many years, but it had a good run, at least.

I’ll be sure not to miss the finale next year.

  2. Do you ever have one of those mornings where you go out the door and yet something is missing. You check for your car keys, purse wallet, etc. You driving to work and that nagging feeling is still there. Aha! I forgot to read For Better or For Worse! I read it from day one and will truly miss the family. We have seen them through all of life’s ups and downs, just like our own. Thank you Lynn Johnson for many years of happness and sadness along the way. God Bless!

  3. I have enjoyed the stories of the Patterson
family for many years. April’s birth stands out in my mind. As I got older, along with Lynn Johnson, I appreciated her talent, and wondered how much work it must be to produce such a wonderful story line day in and day out. Sooner or later, we all have to decide to make life adjustments, and only Lynn can know what is right for her. I will continue to appreciate her past work, and respect whatever path she chooses to take for herself and her family….and if her current format gives her joy, more power to her…and may she continue in good health.
