New Boondocks episodes delayed until 2007

According to this report on Red Orbit, new episodes of Aaron McGruder’s Boondocks television show are being delayed until March 2007.  The Cartoon Network has asked for five more episodes.

Says Aaron:

Our production schedule is really, really long, said show creator Aaron McGruder. We’re halfway through the writing and just getting under way with the animation.

While Aaron never gave specific reasons for the hiatus from the comic strip other than to recharge his batteries, many speculate that the time off was to concentrate on the show and even perhaps a movie.  Some cartoonist on other chat/bulletin boards have  even speculated that Aaron will not be coming back at all. If he has five more shows to write – will this affect his return from sabbatical which ends in October?

  1. The boondocks cant go off the air. They’re to many people who love that show. And even if he is suppposedly ” charge his batteries” I hope he makes a movie.

  4. The Boondocks is the reason I keep watching TV. Their are very few shows that entertain and still express the real feelings of being educated and black in this country.

There are many shows out there about the life and history of African-American people, and most get cancled because they didn’t want to finish it, and the ones that do stay are crappy, please, I beg of you, go through with this, you have millions of fan… I swear this on my heart and life, if I had a choice of one show, out of every show in the world, to choose to stay, I swear this to you, it would be the Boondocks. Please don’t cancle this.

  16. i love the boondocks i have the first season and i can watch them over &over &over i’ve watched it so much i damn near know the whole season by memory so please come out with season 2

  17. This is not true. On Arron’s Myspace, The boondocks website, and Adult Swim Website show said that the boondocks has 20 new episodes for season 2 and one is the return of stinkmeaner

  18. Dude I miss boondocks so much!!! I have the first season on dvd and i cant get enough of it…. I hope the 2nd season comes out very very very soooon!!!

  29. what exactly do these kids have to be so pissed about??? wouldn’t their anger be justified had they stayed in their original neighborhoods? is it ALL about the struggle and not the overcoming because you have nothing to blame if you accept you have all the doors open your parents and grandparents didn’t? what about the white people who risked their lives to help achieve equality?? the quakers who started the underground railroad, the dying in the civil war, the shared beatings during the 50’s and 60’s, the rides offered in the 70’s and so on. i doubt were ever going to see this in the show..

  30. Mcgruder’s parents worked their butts off for him to live in a safe neighborhood and go to a safe school. he made himself a millionaire. I’m not saying he didn’t face the occasional butthole but he can’t have gone through what his family did. So, Mcgruder, where’s the anger coming from?????????

    Huey Newton was an addict who robbed the Panther’s public school program to feed his habit and may or may not have ordered the murder of the Panther’s accountant to keep her from turning over the Panther financial records and testifying in court on their activities. Research it then keep watching this show.These characters are PSUEDO revelutionaries. PEACE.

  31. i hope yall aint goin take the boondocks of the air everybody loves that show even my momma and my daddy love that show even my 39 year old aunt like that show thats why yall got to keep it on. if that show didnt come on they wouldnt have no funny cartoon that keep it real

  37. MAN I LOVE THE BOONDOCKS! I LEAVE WORK EARLY EVERY DAY JUST WATCH THEM. MY FRIENDS AND I HAVE THE 1ST SEASON, WE WATCH IT EVERY DAY. WE ALWAYS END UP CRYING WITH LAUGHTER. I LOVE HUEY, BUT RILEY, GRAND PA, AND RUCKIS ARE HECKA FUNNY. PLEASE HURRY UP AND WRITE ANOTHER SEASON FOR ME MAN. KEEP THE BOONDOCKS ON FOREVER LIKE THE SIMPSONS DO.
