KAL wins Grand Prix Press Cartoon Europe award

Kevin Kallaugher (KAL) has won this year’s Grand Prix Press Cartoon Europe cartoon. The cartoon above was published in the October issue of The Economist. KAL’s cartoon beat out 150 other cartoonists and takes home 8,000 Euros. Second and third place goes to Jean Gouders (The Netherlands), and Quirit (Belgium) respectively. Congratulations to KAL

Ed Koren to be appointed Vermont cartoonist laureate

Anton Emdin honored as ACA 2013 Cartoonist of the Year (and two other categories)

Gene Weingarten earns Ernie Pyle Lifetime Achievement award

Gene Weingarten, best known for his Below the Beltway humor column in the Washington Post and his comic strip Barney & Clyde, has been nominated for the 2014 Ernie Pyle Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is conferred by the National Society of Newspaper Columnists. He’ll receive the award next June during their annual conference.
