Eddie Pittman doing voice acting; suspends Red’s Planet for undisclosed really good reason

Eddie Pitman, a fine gentleman, animator and creator of Red’s Planet has a few very cool announcements. The first had to do with doing voice acting for Phineas and Ferb

While I was in LA, several of my colleagues, having heard many of my impressions and voice characterizations, encouraged me to pursue voice acting. I did a little bit of temporary dialogue (?scratch?, as it is called) in Phineas and Ferb and was preparing to put together a voice reel when we made the decision to move back to Florida. Last week I found out that Dan Povenmire and Swampy Marsh, the creators of Phineas and Ferb, have decided to use my voice for a small ( but important) part in the upcoming Phineas and Ferb Star Wars Special. I don?t think I can tell you the part I?m playing yet, but be sure to watch on the Disney Channel July 26 and stay for the credits! It?s really cool.

The latter has to do with some really great news for Eddie, but necessitates putting his Reuben nominated webcomic on hold. Here’s what he wrote.

And lastly, on the Red?s Planet front, there are some things happening behind the scenes. Really cool things; jumping up and down, kissing strangers, calling-the-neighbors kind of things. And, though I can?t really tell you anything at this time, it will mean discontinuing updates for a while; and for that I am truly sorry.

But now, I have a chance to expand the audience for Red?s Planet ? an opportunity that I have been working toward for some time ?and it?s my sincerest hope that you will stick around and be a part of that story. For now, this site will stay up and will continue to post news about the next step for Red?s Planet, hopefully sharing some sketches along the way. You can trust that I?ll let you know whatever I can, when I can.

I’m purely speculating here, but if I was a gambling man, I’d guess that Red’s Planet has been optioned for either a movie or TV series. Either way, I’m really happy for Eddie.

I’m a former speaker and current volunteer at the Walt Disney Hometown Toonfest in Marceline, MO where Walt spent part of his boyhood. Eddie is one our four speakers who will appear the third weekend in September (9-20). Hopefully we can get him to spill the beans on his latest endeavor when he gets to the Toonfest.
