Checkout Hi & Lois client list timeline
The Archivist over at the King Features blog has posted an interesting graphic/timeline created by Dik Browne that highlights the rise of his client list from launch (1954) to 1000 papers (1984).

Why does the chart stop at 1984?

That’s really cool…I’d be interested to see something similar for other strips, like Peanuts, which went from 5 to 2000 papers in 33 years. The graphic shows that once Hi & Lois got to approximately 770 papers in mid-’79, it went almost straight up for the next 5 years until it reached the big 1K.
