The man behind the Booboo kills Yogi video

Michael Cavna interviews Edmund Earle who created this week’s viral video “Booboo Kills Yogi” (I posted it on Monday).

Earle’s animation might invoke the pic-a-nic-basket thieving bears of Jellystone, but his video is intended as more an ode to the film “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,” starring Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck as the titular gunmen from the Missouri outlaw gang. In particular, that film’s dramatic assassination scene is the basis for his parody.

“I’m a huge fan of that film — it’s underrated,” says Earle, whose “adult-themed” video carefully evokes some moments from the 2007 Western.

  1. How about a Yogi and BooBoo death scene ala Kirk and Spock at the end of Star Trek II?

“Do not grieve, Yogi – it is
logical: the needs of the pic-a-nic basket outweigh *cough* *cough*…”

“..the needs of the smarter than average bear. Noooo!”
