Non Sequitur celebrates 10 years with Universal

Glowing praise from Universal Uclick’s John Glynn to Non Sequitur creator Wiley Miller who celebrates 10 years in syndication with Universal.

Wow. 700 papers, multiple books, best-selling calendars and critically lauded graphic novels later … Wiley remains on the top of the game. A master illustrator whose line work is nonpareil and whose writing can go from biting social commentary one day to uproarious character-driven humor the next.

Six feet, four inches. Great art. Top-notch writing. A devastating breaking ball. He’s the whole package. Universal is lucky to be partnered with a man of such great talent. And comics fans are lucky he chose comics over his second love, raising rabbits for their pelts.

Non Sequitur was launched in 1992 through Washington Post Writers Group and switched to Universal in 2000.

Congratulations Wiley! It’s great to hear this.

Non Sequitur is probably one of the best comics around these days. It always delivers.

I avoid gushing publicly over a specific cartoonist’s work, but I’ll make an exception here. I’m always in constant awe of Wiley’s strip every single day. Smart writing with very sharp and sometimes very dry humor. Couple that with amazing artwork and a great eye for layout and design. That’s Wiley’s work. His Sunday panels are always beautiful to look at, which is rare to find in a sunday strip these days. Congratulations Wiley, and thank you so much for such a great strip!

“Non Sequitur” is one of the comics in newspapers you hold up to dispute the ignorant opinion that there aren’t any good comics in newspapers anymore.
