Speaking of Jack Davis and Don Edwing, they'll be joining former MAD colleague Nick Meglin as special guests for a day of "shop talk" during the NCS Southeast Chapter's annual meeting (September 26th) in Asheville, NC. Ya'll come, here?

By the way, since we're talking about interviews, I've got eight new interviews calculated to drive you MAD (with the likes of Jack Davis, Sergio Aragones, Paul Coker, Don Edwing, Tom Richmond, Ted Rall, John Kovaleski and Scott Nickel!) in the upcoming fourth issue of STAY TOONED! Magazine.

...in addition to a bunch of other neato cartooning goodness, including a Daily Cartoonist ad. :o)

And just wait 'til you see Tom's amazing half-page ad in the upcoming fourth issue of STAY TOONED! Magazine. Like all of his interviews, it's a joy and not to be missed!

Sorry. Couldn't resist. Love you, Tom.

And while we’re on the mutual admiration society, give it up for Alan Gardner…seriously

Remember that all. :) The yearly support The Daily Cartoonist fund-raiser begins in about 5 weeks!

A gem? Cool...I wonder if I can pawn myself and start making a living. :) Thanks so much for the kudos, boys and girls. I'm having a blast doing it...it's really become MY webcomic. Trying to approach it with the same passion. And the cartoonists have all been so responsive and open to coming on the show. (I do find it ironic that when I was pursuing cartooning, I knew no one and got nowhere...and after I gave it up, I know so many of these pros personally and have met so many more.)

And Comics Coast to Coast is where I got my start, and I love those guys. Hopefully we're both doing the industry credit. And while we're on the mutual admiration society, give it up for Alan Gardner...seriously. What a great site this is...I've learned more here than I could've imagined back in the pre-internet days.

I'm going to sing Tom's praises as well.
His interviews informative, entertaining, hilarious and fun to do! He's a true gem to the industry.

A comment so nice, he pays it twice :)

Both shows are inspiring and informative. We're so lucky to have guys like Tom, Brian, Justin, and John podcasting such a wonderful light on the industry!

Yes, I'd have to agree with Norm here...Tom always does a great job!

Another podcast worth checking out is comics coast to coast: http://comicscoasttocoast.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1

which is hosted by cartoonists Justin Thompson, Brian Dunaway, and new addition John Sanford (who is a concept/storyboard man for Dreamworks animation) Smart and thoughtful guys, all three.

They recently had a discussion about the UPS/Amazon comic strip contest that mirrored our own discussion here. Hopefully they soon will have someone on that can answer questions about the contest in more depth.
