» Jules Feiffer spoke at Katonah Museum of Art to promote the second book that he collaborated on with his daughter Kate. The book is entitled “Which Puppy.”

College Cartooning

» Chris Sharron who cartoons for the Daily Kent Stater was named one of the top 100 collegiate journalists by UWIRE, a syndicate wire service for student-generated media.

Comic Strips

» Students of Glen Avenue Elementary School in Salisbury (MD) celebrated Alley Oop’s 75 anniversary by submitting their own version of the strip to Jack and Carole Bender, the current cartoonists of cartoonists of the strip who in turn are printing some of the best in their strip. Today’s strip features a drawing by Makai Foreman.

Editorial Cartooning

» Rick Muccio won first place for Best Editorial Cartoonist in the Associated Press’ Division IV in Ohio. Rick’s work appears in the Tribune Chronicle in Warren OH.

» Canadian cartoonist Bruce MacKinnon (Chronicle Herald) was awarded the 2008 Atlantic Journalism Award on Saturday.

Interviews

The National Post has several interviews with cartoonists Ryan North, Tom Humberstone, Steve MacIsaac, Paul Rivoche, Erika Moen, Jose Villarrubia, Troy Little and Scott Campbell who were all featured cartoonists at this year’s Toronto Comic Arts Festival.
