More information on Gene Weingarten’s comic strip
Last week I mentioned a mention that Pulitzer Prize humor columnist Gene Weingarten was working on a comic with his son and that it will be syndicated through Washington Post. In this week’s Chatological Humor, Gene divulges a bit more information. The strip is called Barney and Clyde and is also being produced by David Clark. David won the National Cartoonist Society’s Newspaper Illustration Award in 1996. No release date has been offered, but Gene says that he can no longer use his column to offer ” the best comics of the previous week.”
The Writers Group feel that I can no longer offer my half-assed, semi-knowledgeable opinions about other comic strips that might, in the future, compete for space with mine. I hate to admit it, but they have a point.
