» New York Daily News cartoonist and writer Bill Gallo was the honored guest speaker at the fifth annual Honor the Free Press Day where he talked about his World War II experience and how it made him a better journalist.

» The San Diego Union-Tribune found a buyer. I don’t know how that will affect the paper or Steve Breen, its cartoonist. The paper was sold to Platinum Equity, based in Beverly Hills which says it will “bring a strong operational focus that helps ensure the Union-Tribune not only survives in this market, but thrives.”

» More comic strip plush toys are hitting the market. Stephan Pastis has posted photos of soft and cuddly versions of his Pearls Before Swine.

» Politico editorial cartoonist Matt Wuerker will speak to Lebanon Valley Collegeâ??s Age of Terror Colloquium on Friday, April 3 on the topic of “The Funny Side of the Age of Terror”.

» Richard Thompson’s Cul de Sac character Dill now has a Facebook page.

» Terri Libenson, creator of Pajama Diaries, had a nice Q&A in The Plain Dealer (Cleveland, OH).
