Mike Smith covers NASCAR in addition to politics
Editorial cartoonists are known to cover political conventions and other big events, but Las Vegas Sun editorial cartoonist Mike Smith has a different beat. He covers NASCAR. He does the normal five editorial cartoons for the Sun, an additional one for USA Today and then does two NASCAR cartoons for the Sun and the other for NASCAR Scene – a newspaper specific to racing. Mike attends the races personally and draw up the sketches that are then posted on his blog and the sports section of the Sun’s site. He’s already put together a book collection of his racing cartoons called Nuts for Racing
